England is Splashing out on a new Prison costing £14 million!!! Each Cell has a Plasma Screen, En-suite Shower, Comfy recreation room Gym and snooker Table. Britons worst Rapists and Murderers are to be moved thereonce its built. Why give people who have ruined and destroyed lives a plasma Screen Tv? Its rewarding Murder. Briton has a higher Crime rate than America, Russia, France Brazil, Greece and Saudi Arabia yet they all take a tougher stance on Prison Life. I just find it ridiculus that Prisinors who have not just stolen something but taken a life get given this when thousands of starving kids need food. That money could be used so much more wisely. I think it may encourge people who maybe live on the streets or have rough lives to commit crimes so that they get the comfort of a warm recreation room with Plasma Tvs and Snooker Tables.

Arg. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. It might even make crime rise so people can go to that prison, if they're homeless or something.

Nothing to add. I agree with everyone who's commented here.
I'd really rather see children from poorer regions in those rooms, warm and with food.

Grr..I was reading about this in the newspaper.
But one thing: If they are treated horribley in prison, when they are let out, they will be as horrible and aggressive as when they went in or commited their crime.

That's very true, but you can't spoil them either.
So basically, don't give them a 5-star hotel, and don't make them do hard labor all day! It is a prison, even if you don't abuse your prisoners.

I don't believe you. My guess is this is a holding prison for people awaiting trials. It's common for these prisons (which often hold people who end up being found not guilty of any crime) to have tvs in the cells to show movies every night. Prisoners are also allowed out of their cells for most of the day. Besides, even if they're given a plasma tv, what good is it if it doesn't show any television shows (because it wouldn't be connected to any tv system, it would be closed circuit)? Perhaps they're given private showers because a lot of prison rapes and assaults happen in the shower room? I don't think you need to worry about these guys kicking back watching the game with a cold beer.
(I've never been in prison, but I do know a prison guard. That's why I know this stuff.)

It's like a pool table, only you play a different game on it. This one requires just pretty colored balls, not pretty colored balls with numbers. If you ever go to England, it's on tv all the effing time. Along with bowls.
