which of these things is least likely to work/happen? i voted for pulling>100lbs w/ gum.

It's a tough choice between pulling with gum, climbing the shaft, and the jail-break. (Sunny's sword-fight with Orwell was also implausible.) I think I'll vote for the jail-break, this time.

I voted for the chewing gum one. Even a fairly large amount of chewing gum wouldn't be that strong. The elevator-shaft climbing and jail-break are quite unlikely as well.

The gum thing was VERY unrealistic. It totally wouldn't work. But being hypnotized is very real. It is hard to hypnotize someone that doesn't want to be hypnotized. A hypnotized person would never do anything they know is bad (like kill their dog or something). So the hypnosis part is really only unrealistic in those senses.

In the absense of Sunny's tooth-and-sword fight, I'll have to vote for the gum. That had never even occurred to me before, which just goes to show how caught up I get in these books, but looking at it from the outside, that's pretty crazy.

I have always found the stretched gum quite an impossible feat, as well as breaking out of jail with spongy bread and a pitcher of water equally unbelievable.
