Well, me and a friend of mine were in France, stuck with a game of Monopoly made in Switzerland.
As we were getting bored of the French and German chance descriptions, an unfortunate idea infected my mind...
To cut a long story short, you can play as the good side of VFD or the bad side. (Not Laissez-faire...yet!) The good side have to bankrupt their opponent as usual. The bad side have to "burn" (quite like mortgaging, but can't be unmortgaged) all the thirteen libraries. (Roughly one per set of same coloured properties.)
There are secret passages-from the Baudelaire Mansion to Dark Avenue and from the Quagmire Mansion to Dr Montgomery's House. In addition one of the "Disturbing Discoveries", (Community Chests) sends you through a mysterious passage to the Snicket Mansion.
Chances are "Unfortunate Events", and contain everything from being sacked from the Daily Punctilio to advancing to Hotel Denouement.
It's good fun. The good side starts with twice as much money as the bad side because that evens it up, and makes sense bookwise.
Has anyone else made ASOUE monopoly?

No, but that sounds like a lot of fun. They should make that for real.

I thought about plans for an ASoUE monopoly game once, but never got anywhere with them. However, I have a thread about ideas for a Snicket chess set somewhere, since I was really into chess over the summer.

You know, I have come across a few "Unfortunate' boardgames in the local *gag* walmart. They looked fearful. Yours is at least original! It sounds like good fun.

So would I . Someone should make a gameboard image and start it up in ghastly games.
