if you have the calendar (or if you don't), you see how it says for march 31, "alleged date the alleged baudelaire mansion allegedly burned down". so, if you figure out the time each book takes, by TAA, you're at roughly late june or july. which brings me to my question: why are the quagmires wearing sweaters, if it's summer?
wow..i haven't posted about the books in ages.

I wear jumpers in summer. Sometimes. Maybe they were preparing to go to the MortMain Mountians when the fire happened. In the end, they had to settle in Prufock Prep because they didn't know where to go without Quigley.
Plus, itis only Alleged

Better yet, why are they at school in the middle of summer? Maybe Prufrock Prep has really good air conditioning.

Good point. Even boarding schools have summer vacation. And weekends. But the school could be used as training grounds for VFD in the summer. Most of the kids seem to be rich, if Carmelita is anything. If it is in the summer, and not a training place, then Prufrock Prep is a horrendously cruel place to learn.

Yeah, you should've been at school last year: when it was warm outside it was a meat locker in the classrooms in winter it was a desert. So it could've just been really cold inside.

Prufrock Prep has school on the weekends, so there's probably school in the summer too. I work at a school in the winter and summer, and it is freezing in the summer indoors. I have to bring a sweater to work or wear a hoodie. But they are only illustrations. We shouldn't take them too seriously.

Maybe they get cold easily. That's how I am. I sometimes wear long sleaves and pants. Or maybe they didn't have any other types of clothes.
