what do you think the Baudelaire Mansion looked like? if this has been brought up before please tell me. if you find a picture on the net please show.

I haven't thought about it before. I suppose that the mansion must be pretty old, both because they had room to build it in "the heart of a busy and dirty city", (that space is hard to come by nowadays) and because Lemony saw the tunnel leading from 667 Dark Avenue to the mansion on a map passed down from the grandfather of the grandfather of his grandfather's grandfather. We also know that it was built from green wood, but not why that is important.

On the top of every book. (in the little circular picture) you can see the mansion on fire. It's only a little picture, but it can give you an idea on what it looked like.

We might as well make this a thread dealing with everything we know about the mansion, so here I go again...
1) It was made of emerald green lubmer(LSUA) but was somehow white in appearance, (corner of every book)
2) It had a window cushion, brandy bottle, grand piano, library, microscope, teething rings, and a chess set. -BBRE
3) Said brandy bottle was smashed in fury(proabably by Count Olaf)-BBRE note conclusion
4) The Baudelaire table was handy for unrolling maps, dining, solving puzzles, etc... Also, the brandy bottle left an unsightly mark on it.-BBRE
5) It was burnt down(presumably by Count Olaf)
6) It was the place where many dinner parties were hosted, it was at the center of a grimy, busy city, and there was a room near the dining room where Mr. Poe coughed. -BB
7) It was always necessary to use a coaster when putting a beverage on the Baudelaire table to prevent leaving an unsightly ring. Lemony Snicket remembers this FROM HIS TIME AT THE TABLE.-BBRE
8) It had some sort of surveillance-BBRE

Maybe the surveillance is a sugar bowl.
In other news, I think that the meeting in the introduction of LSUA did NOT take place in the Baudelaire Manor, because the mansion where they did meet had the VFD insignia on it, and the Baudelaires would have recognized it when they saw it on Madame Lulu's house.
