It looked interesting in the book store. The funky art caught my attention and the torn up looking condition of the pages amused me after I read the back cover. Things are so unfortunate not even the book can escape prettily!

I saw them on TV. Daniel Handler was like "Lemony Snicket books!! NO!!" and then I said "I'll read them then." Don't you just want to do what people say not to?

Yes! My friend told me about them and constantly reading the words:these books are absolutely horrific and should not be read by anyone, made me want them even more! My friend was reading the aa and it looked interesting. Then my dear cousin read them, so I said, that does it! I'm reading them to see what all the fuss is about..

I was a fan of Daniel Handler's writing, then I saw he was writing a series of children's books. I was only marginally into them until the VFD storyline came out in book 5...then I was hooked.

Drat, I should have put in that one... I also should have not accidentally started 3 threads and deleted my first posts, but anyway, I think it's cool to find out how everyone found out about this series.

I first got the books from a book order, they looked pretty cool, I was in 7th grade, you know the cards on LemonySnicket.com, of all ;the characters, well it came with them, all nicely in color to, and first I thought that they were a little wierd, but one day I came home early from school sick, and I decided to read them, and I read the first three that night, I was hooked, God, If only I could remeber reading the first book the first time, it must have been so great...
