...it seems that everyone believes that Quigley was the survivor of the fire that killed the Baudelaire parents.
In TSS Page 156 it says ' "I'm Quigley Quagmire," he said, "I survived the fire that destroyed my home, and I was hoping to find my brother and sister." '
Quigley Quagmire survived the Quagmire fire, not the Baudelare fire. So maybe there is still hope?

It would be nice to still have hope, and it is entirely possible, because the survivor was in the sonowman at the same time they were at montys, and Quigley went to montys a long while after the bauds were there, and he described what he was doing since the fire, and there was nothing about hiding in a snowman, (its a trivial detail, but thats what i think.)

I think that there still is another survivor, as well, because between the Baudelaires and Quigley, there was a misunderstanding, although I noticed that there seems to be less talk of the parent after that, excluding the conversation about the Hotel Denemount.

In the snicket file it says that there was a survivor to the fire
It never says that it is about the Quagmires or the Baudelaires
For all we know, the snicket mansion ALSO burned down....

It said "a survivor of the fire", meaning, "a fire identified earlier." What we really need is more information on what the file says, so we can tell which fire it was. However, it's possible that there are survivors from more than one fire, besides the survivor from the fire.
Quigley never mentioned being hidden in a snowman, but it seems like the sort of thing you wouldn't forget to tell people. Maybe something made him forget it? Keep in mind that hypnotism is possible in Snicketiania.

There especially could be another survivor of a fire, because of the lion mangled letter we've been trying too figure out(Dupin's thread  ). There is a big space between "Last survivor of the Baudelaire fire", and I've been trying to crack the letters meanings and actual words with a magnifying glass. It works really well, actually. |
