I just wanted to post my idea, well--my mom's idea really. She suggested a readers club for little kids about ASOUE. I took the idea seriously (really good NJHS hours) and made a pitch to the woman today.
My friend and I are doing it at the libary. The woman loves it and we're gonna do it this summer! I'm soooo excited, but we're only doing the first 5 books.
I just thought this was a really good idea and I wanted to share it. We might even do a follow-up to it for the next 4 books or summin like that.
EDIT: I finished the group about a month ago (but I haven't been online because I went on vacation the day the class ended). I had a fabulous group and all of the kids LOVED the activities (I taught them anagrams, how to code letters, trivia, ect., and I also made them candy puttenesca!). It was a blast... ;D
My mom also talked to a children's person at Borders, and she wants to talk to me! YAY!

Good idea. Not only is it a public service that will get young kids interested in reading, but it also will recruit the next generation of the truly obsessed.

volunteer23, do you need any ideas? I run Unfortunate Day at my school every year and I've got a whole file full of stuff.

Awesome! Lemony would be intensely proud. I disagree. He's probably be more agreeable with making sure that the less people who read these books the better. But that's just the way our favorite author is.

Sounds great. ASOUE isn't that popular here in Singapore, so this sort of stuff doesn't usually happen. We always get left out on stuff. The movie was released 3 months after the U.S. -shifty eyes-

Heh I wish at least my friends were all interested in ASOUE as much as I am... (it's so hard to find people interested in ASOUE here. *sighs*) or they could at least read the damn books, for Christ's sake!!! Ahem. Sorry. ;D
