TMM by far. I abhor that book! It made me miserable. In fact, it's the only book by Snicket that I actually regret reading. I hate TMM.

Hmmm...All the early books are boring in a way because each of them have the same aspects, which does get rather boring. Here's my list...
1) THH 2) TWW 3) TSS (I really didn't think much happened in that, more like a bridge from TCC to TGG) 4) TMM was pretty boring too. 5) TRR 6) TAA 7) TBB
The others (TVV, TPP, TGG, TEE, and TCC), I didn't find boring at all.

He was trying to get us to stop reading them so we wouldn't discover mysteries that we wanted to solve and we wouldn't read about the terrible lives of the Baudelairs.

TGG was verrry long, and lost my interest in some places.

The Miserable Mill was incredibly boring, I agree. It was also a bit scary when you think of the way Dr. Orwell died. Too me, there wasn't much information in the book at all.

TRR. I don't know how anyone could hate TMM, it's so creepy. I also like TWW, THH, TCC, TGG, and TPP for similar reasons.
Edit: Oh, not to mention TEE, for all the pitch blackness going on.

TEE was good. I liked it. I mean, I have a VERY dirty discriptive mind. Just READING about the Bauds getting pushed by Esme...... I had falling nightmares about that for a while.....

I quite liked the two black pages in TEE, too. That's probably one of Snicket's more clever gimmicks.

OH13: The hypnosis thing was spooky. THAT is what made it interesting. The late beginning to end. The VERY beginning with all the lumbermill work was pretty booring, though. Belladonna: I personally enjoyed TCC, but OH13 HATES it. I don't get why. OH13: The demeaning term "freak" has deep and unpleasant meaning in my life. Plus the animal abuse with the whip....
