Here is my first ASOUE fanfic. I hope you like it!
*NOTE: Imagen that the Baudelaires were rescued at VFD by Mr. Poe. (Count Olaf and his troop escaped and the Qugmires are w/ Hector)*
Chapter 1:
I once knew a woman who lived in the town of Sinfeld. Her name was Mrs. Lacour. Mrs. Lacour, according to one of my fellow memebers, was from France. But for some reason, lost her beautiful accent when she moved here with her husband Chistophe. The same year of the move, she and her husband gave birth to one gorgeous daughter. (I learned later that when she grew up, she became very unattractive) However tragedy flew over the Lacour family. 10 years after living in Sinfeld, Christophe was shot and killed downtown. 5 years later, Mrs. Lacour's daughter disappeared, which left poor Mrs. Lacour all alone. Ever since, she's wanted to adopt children...
"Now you 3 must be on your best behavior. Mrs. Lacour is a nice old lady, and I told her-"
"You told her that we were good children and nothing will go wrong," Violet said. She had memorized Mr. Poe's lecture about behaving with the guardiens by now.
"Exactly," said Mr. Poe. He paused to cough into his hankerchief. "I wonder how you knew what I was going to say Violet."
"Maybe it's because we've heard this speech about 50 times," Klaus said in a quiet tone.
"Did you say something Klaus?" Mr. Poe asked.
Klaus sighed. "No Mr. Poe. I didn't."
"Well, ok then," Mr. Poe said coughing again. "But I mean it when I say best behavior."
"Olaf!" Sunny shrieked. What she ment to say was "But the stuff that happened in VFD wasn't our fault! Count Olaf framed us!"
"And that's another thing," Mr. Poe said turning onto an avenue. "I told Mrs. Lacour all about Count Olaf, so she has a complete description of him, so you can stop worrying about whether he'll come to get you."
"But Count Olaf is always in a disguise," Klaus protested.
"Well, we'll worry about something like that if it happens," Mr. Poe said, and I'm sorry to say something like that would happen. "Oh, here we are," Mr. Poe declared turing into a driveway.
The Baudelaires got out of the car, stretched from the long ride, and looked at their new home. It was a grand 3 level victorian style house painted a sky blue. The shutters were painted maroon, and there was a white gazibo in the front yard.
"Well, I must drop you off now and head back to the bank." Mr. poe said. "You know where to contact me. Have a lovely time in your new home and good luck!"
Mr. poe got back into his car and waved at the 3 children. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny all waved back as the car drove away, and didn't stop waving until the car had turned the corner and was out of sight.
"Well, I guess we should go meet Mrs. Lacour," Klaus said to his sisters picking up his suitcase.
"Yes," Violet said holding Sunny in one arm and the suitcase in her other hand. "I wonder what she'll be like."
"Goger," Sunny said, which meant "There's only one way to find out."
Her siblings nodded and headed for the front door.
