Jerome sat sedatedly in his salmon colored chair at the Cafe Salmonella, in the fish district, gazing nonchalantly out the window. He had agreed to meet his blind date, a woman named Esme here at precisely 12:00 for a light lunch. Jerome had always hated salmon, but he hated to argue even more. He watched as a young slim woman with hair as dark as the night sky, stroll in with an arrogant smile on her face. Her eyes pierced Jerome, and he approached her politely. " You must be Jerome, Jerome Squalor?" she said, as if she already knew everything about him. " Yes! Hello, nice to meet you Esme!" he said enthusiastically. She gave him a quick smile, and cautiously placed a creme colored envelope in her purse. " Here's our table." Jerome announced, and being a gentleman, pulled out the chair for Esme. She brushed by him, and smoothed her flannel skirt, which happened to be very "in" at the time, and sat down. "Jerome..." she whispered and grabbed his hand, " Let's forget all this "get to know you" crap, and let's get married!" Jerome looked taken-aback, and wasn't sure this was the right thing to do. Esme was pretty, and she certainly had style, but he thought this was quite rushed! But he hated to argue, so he reluctantly agreed. He would never forget Esme's triumphant smile that night, for the rest of his life...... Tell me whatcha think then! The next chapter will come out soon!

I think that Esme would have been more subtle with the whole Marriage-Jerome thing.

I liked it. But I'm just a poor, insignificant speck in the sceme of things. Hehee... What does subtle mean? **huge grin, sweat drop(anime style)**
