Yeah. When I was reading the first few I wasn'r expecting V.F.D. or anything.

Well, the problem with TMM was it was the last one before there started being a mystery/point to the series, so it was kind of boring, becasue it follwed the pattern of the ones before it, and I got sick of Klaus's glasses breaking and hypnotizing and . . . et cetera. (My personal favorite is either TRR or TSS, or maybe TEE. Least favorites were TCC and THH, but I couldn't say why.) I read the first five because I was babysitting this boy and girl who read them, when I was in eighth grade. (I read them out of order too: TWW first, then TRR, TMM, TAA, and lastly TBB.) But ANYroad, then it got into VFD and I was hooked.

my least favorite is the MM, but every series has a down point. except LOTR.
i'm sure it will pay off eventually. maybe it was written to lower our expectations, so the books would seem better! if that's the case, i fell for it.

When my mom finished TMM (we have her hooked in the series) she called the mill a prison camp.

I really thought The Miserable Mill was boring. My favorite so far is The Hostile Hospital, because it was so clever. But The Ersatz Elevator was an extremely close second, hence my username.
