There is a book by a man named Jerome David Sallinger titled: For Esme, with Love and Squalor. Written at about 1930-1940. Do you think Daniel Handler might have used this at all? Any allusions? . What does everyone think?

Just because you've heard about it doesn't mean you have to be rude! Gosh people. Anyway, I think it is an interesting topic...

You should see us attack a poster who posted something that have been discussed before. J: Yes, I get to be a real bitc. I don't know why, it's like a full moon to a werewolf.

He doesn't think of much on his own, does he? Although it is cool to read all those literary references. ;D

There is also a poem called "Own Own Home Talent" by Dorothy Parker, about someone named Isadora Quigley.

Hahahaha... I'm not being rude... I just cannot stand when newbies come on here, postin about things that have been discussed 1000000000 times... I don't expect you to read through thousands of posts, as to make sure something hasn't been discussed, but don't come on here saying the obvious... Like "Oh hey guys... I am new... I think i know who the Baudelaire's mother is... It's Beatrice!"

Yeah, Jerome!! I mean come on!! Everyone figured out the Baudelaire mother case, the Esmé thing with Jerome, and everyone knows about Jacques and where he came from. (For those newbs who don't it's from the French song "Frere Jacques". Frere, in French, means brother and then Jacques. You think of Jacques as brother Jacques to Lemony.)
I mean you've only posted 27 times. You may call me a newb, but at least I know what's been discussed and what hasn't.

Well, as you probably know, Lemony uses many authors as characters and historical references -George "Georgina" Orwell -Nero: A cruel emperor of Rome who played the lyre very bady, but said he was good. The Greeks always told him he was good and he said, "Only the Greeks are worth my genius." -Edgar Allen Poe- Mr Poe, his son Edgar Poe, and his other son Albert (Allen) Poe
