In TAA, it say Ms. Bass was arrested for a bank robbery after the Baudelaires left. Do you think it's of any significance? Discuss.

Did it say which bank she robbed? Maybe she wasn't after money.. No, it didn't.

I found something out! In Nero's letter to the Spat's in LSUA, he says '...and Ms. Bass is always going to the bank for buisness...' or something along those lines (I don't have the book at hand).

If Mrs. Bass is a member of V.F.D. maybe it was to steal one specific note that had a coded message. Maybe like a specific latitude and longitude to Hotel Denouement hidden in the serial number.

Well I forget if it said Mrs. Bass robbed a bank specifically for money or she just robbed a bank. I'm fairly certain Mrs. Bass is content to be a filler character and is off not only measuring her money but counting it as well. You gave me sort've an idea. Maybe she stole the money to measure, and THEN to use for herself. Oh well. She could've used any other dollar bills, or money, though.

I've been wondering which side Ms. Bass is on: good or evil VFD? Let's see: If Mr. Poe is in the evil side of VFD, which I think he is(and so is his sister), Ms. Bass may have robbed Mulctuary to acquire something that wasn't money. The item she stole could have been important to good VFD and previously stolen by Mr. Poe and his evil allies. What if it was a Sugar Bowl? Or, as some have suggested, a coded note?
And I'm sure Ms. Bass wanted to measure it in centimeters. Her metric-system obsession is so charming.

What is the significance, do you think, of the fact that all the teachers at Prufock Prep (Mrs Bass, Mr Remora, Miss Tench) are named after fish?
Relating to Cafe Salmonella? How in...

I wondered about the fish theme in books 5 and 6 both. Did Nero, an ally of Olaf, get fish decorations from Esme, and are the teachers' names fake as well as fish--themed? See Ocean Decorations And Fish Lamps for my findings, or some of them.
