Maybe the Orphans Shack is used to sacluded the too be V.F.D. members from the normal kids. Because the Quagmires lived in it until there training in it was done and the Baudelaires came.

Since Prufock Prepentory School is a V.F.D training school (alleged), the orphans shack might be for children that need to learn to live in a tricky way-maybe children who are used to living in mansion? (Quagmires, Baudelaires) The principal (sp), might have told Nero (vice principal), that it's for orphans, so that Nero wouldn't suspect something, as we don't think he's in V.F.D. at all.

Yes Nero is in V.F.D. But on the bad side. It says that in TBBRE.

No, no, it never says Nero's in V.F.D, just that he's a horrible person:
Pg. 74, TBB:
"There are many words for people like that (like the way Olaf treats them)"
TBBRE extra notes add to that a lot of names, including Olaf, NERO, Quisling and Gorgon.

Precisley. I think that when it said "There are many names for people like that" it means about someone who hits childre etc.
So it means that Nero is just a niave idiot.
But who are Quisling and Gorgon? The man with the beared and no hair and the woman with hair and no beard. Members of Olaf's troupe. People still to come?

now that i think about it...yeah, those people could be the man without hair but a beard, and the woman with no beard but hair, and someone said in another thread that they are gonna be new people to come later in the books, like the next one

But who are Quisling and Gorgon? The man with the beared and no hair and the woman with hair and no beard. Members of Olaf's troupe. People still to come? Quisling=A sleazy, wretched traitor. It derives from the name of a very treacherous person. Like "Benedict Arnold", it's a synonym for traitor. Gorgon=A demon with snakes for hair, the sight of whose face turns one to stone. In other words, Medusa. Snicket may introduce characters with these names as allusions. Also, "people like that" implies villains, the violent, Olaf's allies(which I think includes Sir and Nero)

I think that Gorgon and Quisling are going to be new people because they both sound like boys names. I think they will be someone we meet at the Hotel Denounment or they could be members of FFP, even theough it stands for FEMALE finnish pirates.

well, about the MWBBNH and TWWHBNB, i think they might be them(gorgon and quisling as "they")because quisling, that vidkon quisling or whatever his name is, is a guy, and gorgon is medusa/her sister which means gorgon is a girl, so, they MIGHT fit the profile, but i still have a feeling theyre not them for some reason..

A Gorgon is a she-demon, and Quisling is a last name. Conceivably, those could be the last names of two very evil people. Could be the names of the bearded man and the beardless woman, or the last names of some Snow Scouts.
