I HATED TMM. It was so pointless. I mean, it's like Sixteen said: "Orphans find a new guardian. Guardian proves to be somehow inept. Olaf disguises himself and fools guardian. Olaf tries to snatch fortune."
SOOOOOOO interesting...not.
I don't know why all these people are attacking the Quagmires, either. This thread isn't even ABOUT them.
Grr....

TMM was sad for me and when I read it I almost cryed. The only thing I cryed about was in TVV when they are in jail and it's Klaus's 13 birthday. I had just turned 13 so it was very sad for me. My fav is TGG, TSS and TPP.

The sad part for me was when the BAudelaires went with Olaf at the end of TPP.

TGG made me cry...the part where Sunny gets better...she is so sweet! It was such a change, as she usually annoys me. I used to refer to her as the character who is 'just there'.

The way I see it, this how the books go, in order from most boring to most exciting.
1.) TBB (Didn't think so when I first read it, but now it just seems rather dull. THe Rare Edition, however, goes in between TUA and TSS) 2.) TMM (As Semesther (i think) said, "Orphans go to new home, COunt Olaf disguises, get's busted but escapes, orphans need to find a new home) 3.) TEE (Just seems to be a filler for between VFD's introduction in TAA to the turning point in TVV) 4.) TE (Found it to be somewhat medicore) 5.) TWW (It was okay) 6.) TRR (same here) 7.) TPP (exciting, but somehow frusterating to read, especially the part with Mr. Poe) 8.) TAA (A new mystery introduced to open eyes up to new possibilites) 9.) TVV (They fianlly leave incompetant guardians) 10.) TGG (Quite mysterious and exciting) 11.) TCC (Snicket managed to make this one funny, sad, and mysterious all at once, all the while finally putting in some decent character development, a truly fun read) 12.) THH (My blood was pumping during the part where Violet is unconcious) 13.) TUA (Hilarious, Sad, Mysterious, and somewhat scary, this book is must-read) 14.) TSS (My abosulte favorite, it's the pivitol book for the whole series, becuase it answers more questions and creates more mysteries than any other book in the series)
Please note that this is just my opinion.

i like then. I hope that if violet lived her and quigley hook up they make such a cute couple! My favorite picture in all of the books is the one where violet and quigley are sitting on the mountain together

as someone said before,I think the reason TMM was the least favorite is because it's the same plot. The AA made the series more interesting, and TVV made it even more interesting and shocking

Basically, books 1 through 7 are the same--like that person said, VKS go to new home, all is happy (or okay), Olaf comes, oh no, guardian ignores it, Olaf kills/aids/confuses guardian, VKS leave. The End. But the series gets a lot better from book 8 onward--I especially like in THH where Klaus is standing with a rusty knife over Violet, expected to kill her. . .It was pretty awesome.

TMM is supposedly the most boring book. But I mean, Just think about the action-packed sequence of Sunny and Dr. Orwell "sword fighting", or in Sunny's eyes "teeth fighting". Also, Charles almost being chopped up by the saw machine should not be overlooked. TMM is not as boring as it has been so wrongly accused.

Except, when I first read that scene, I think I had the sneaking suspicion that Sunny wouldn't actually die. And Charles turned out okay in the end. If you judge excitement by the amount of people that get killed, TMM is waaaaaaay low on the list.

...TMM is The Miserable Mill. There is no "TMG," but TGG is The Grim Grotto. It's not very complicated; it's just the initials of each title.

I hated TMM until Olaf came and Klaus was hypnotized. After that I loved it.
