That's hilarious. Why was he replaced?
I wonder why Boston was picked. It's a cool city from my vauge memory of being there when I was four.

That's hilarious. Why was he replaced? Beats me, but I think I read an article in which he said that he'd written eight drafts, and didn't feel that he had a ninth in him.

Acording to peoplefinders.com 28 Prospero Place does not exist, at least not in Boston

Note, all, that this thread is merely to discuss the possible setting suggested in the movie. The main thread for discussion of all possibilities for the setting of the series is this thread: "I know where the series takes place!"

I noticed that as well, but I doubt it's where it takes place. It had to be addressed somewhere, right? I'll check if they filmed it in Boston, but I doubt that too.
EDIT: LA and Wilmington. For the record, they're located at 23 Prospero Place, Boston, MA.

I think Handler made it up and PUT it in Boston just because he's the series writer and he could.

But Boston isn't mentioned in the series, only in the movie, and movie clues can't be applied to the books. There's no telling if Handler was responsible for Boston's mention in the film, because his version of the script was revised so much by others.

The Baudelaires could live just miles away from me! I shall go have tea and crumpets w/ them tommorow.

There really is no way of knowing if Handler really told them to, or if it was one of the writers/editors after him. I don't think that the movie is relevant to the movie. Who knows if it will even end the same way. There are to many contrasts between them to compare them.

The movie is not relevant to the movie, Snicket Face? Huh.

Perhaps set in Britain? Mentions of 'black taxis' in TPP.

Did it mean black specifically as the color? I'm to lazy to look it up. If it didn't then it could mean black as in illegal taxis, like a Gypsy Cab in New York.
