I was reading the Sunday Newspaper and I found this: Sleep In the stacksLibrary Hotel, New York City Each of the rooms in this hotel near Grand Central Terminal is themed to a category in the Dewey Decimal System. (That's the one used by librarians to order stacks.) In your room are dozens of tomes about that subject. Just in case you don't want to go through several thousand pages of, say, oceanography, there's a huge library off the lobby with hundreds of titles that will make it hard to leave the hotel to do what you came to New York for: to see the city. www.libraryhotel.comRooms from $269 per night (sorry don't know euro conversions.) A loyal Member, Joe Edit:I would like to know what you think. ;D

Just moving this to PPlaces. It's something we've known about for a while, but I don't recall where and when it was last brought up. While I still don't think Handler intended the series to be set in New York City or any other actual place, the Hotel Denouement could well have been inspired by that hotel-- though it's more fantastical and doesn't seem to stick to the "one room for each category" rule, with numbers attached to restaurants and things in the lobby and such.

I am sorry I didn't know. ;D But I ran across while I was in St. Louis, MO, USA ( to foreigners who don't know where that is.)

For this one, I just go with what was shown in the movie: Massachusetts. It seems to be as good an answer as any other.

But it'd be kind of weird to have it there. It might burn down. D:
Yeah, Snicket goes more fancy with it.
