alternative country rocks tho.. wilco and ryan adams are some of my favorite artists.. i like cracker, *sings* that's cracker with a C not a K or an Uncle understand */sings* heh...

yay.. alt. country rocks. wilco's new LP is coming out on june 8th or something. yankee hotel foxtrot is fantasalicious. and ryan adams... i love all of his stuff..
sadly, those are the only alt. country artists whose stuff ive heard.

I remember talking about alternative country once, Zach.
I think we agreed that it was exactly the same as normal country music only they didn't make their starts in Memphis or some such place.

Isn't The Cardigans apparently alt-country now? I read it somewhere, but I was always under the impression it was Swedish pop.
I haven't listened to much alt-country, but I do like powerfolk, if it counts.

You should try to get some Scud Mountain Boys music, or even some Pernice Brothers (both are headed by the same guy). Iron & Wine are great too. But if you like alt country, do yourself a favor and search out the song Gone for Good by the Shins. The rest of their stuff isn't alt country (although it is brilliant), but that song is amazing. An easy to find alt country band is Old 97s. Anything pre-Fight Songs is terrific. Satellite Rides is good too, but it's more pop.
