Here you can discuss late nineties thrillers like Twister, Independance Day, Armageddon, and Deep Impact or older classics like Airport and Godzilla. The only requirement to qualify as a disaster movie is that a lot of innocent people die.
Did you know that Godzilla was supposed to be a metaphor for American industries destroying Japan? Of course, in America they missed the point entirely and made the thing a blockbuster.

i liked final destination 2. it was pretty good. so was twister, and id like to see deep impact. that has elijah wood in it right?

this movie isnt from the late nineties and it wasn't a disaster movie in terms of the plot but in terms of the people who actually saw i it was. gigli

There were so many corny disaster movies out there. tons of them ripped off godzilla too, and had giant lizards.
i saw a really bad movie about a bunch of giant locusts attacking a city, i cant remember the name though.
it was a mystery science theater 3000 movie, if anyone knows what it is...
