Well, for all of our joking, it looks like the concept of "Unhappy Meals" will be a reality. You may commence screaming... source: www.viacom.com/press.tin?ixPressRelease=80354161“We’re excited to be partnering once again with the Burger King Corporation, this time around two of today’s most popular properties, SpongeBob SquarePants and Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events”, said Rebecca Barrs, Vice President of Marketing for Nickelodeon International,” adding, “Based on the attention these two properties have generated, especially in the licensing and merchandising arena, we are confident that these two films will be among our most successful movie promotions with BURGER KING®.” Two weeks prior to the films’ regional premieres customers will receive a movie themed premium with each purchase of a Burger King Kid's Meal. Participating BURGER KING® restaurants will include in-store movie displays, posters, banners, tray liners, and competition and sweepstake cards.

Oh my gods. Oh my gods. I hardly believe it and don't particularly want to. This is unnerving.....*Restrains self from flamingly ranting*
I have to wonder if these people read our boards and got the idea there. We've been joking about this for months; it's certainly possible. Either that or we're prophets. Weird. Eerie.

*Passes out Kleenex*
WHY? WHY? Gods, it just monsterous. Where D.H.? Shouldn't he get a say in this? Good gravy, do you think he WANTED this to happen? This is an outrage!!! A scandal! Hide your children! Boycott Burger King! Send angry letters to D.H.!
Okay, breathe Annie, breathe... I think we best not support such a terrible way of making more money, and eat healthy non-deep friend foods to prove our point and get healthier too.

Handler is f***ing smart. Hes gonna make tons more money from this, you know? And here is what I say:
Think about it. So far, hes been a a money rampage (making lots of it, great for him) and Im sure he did have a say so in this. Sure, LS big kids meals are a bit tacky and off-color, but a bunch of people are gonna make so much money off of this, you wont believe it.
Sad thing is, Im not a big Burger King fan, but Ill end up getting a kids meal just to get one of the cheap toys for old laughs sake.

That's sad. He's willing to stoop down so low just for money...What has the world come to?

By the time this movie has left its mark, he will be a huge millionaire, Im sure. Second one rolls around, he'll be rolling around, too...yeah, in money that is!
The world revolves around money. People cant live without it. And if you have a lot of it, great for you! I support this goofy decision because Handler will make what everyone works for; money. I say, more you have, better off you are. And dont give me that crap aobut how rich people are miserable. He has too much creativity o be miserable.

Yes, he'll stay happy in his own little sadistic world.
DH said in an interview that he had a fantasy about unhappy meals with mad cow disease in the burger etc. So maybe he's just amused by the idea.

Can I have a tissue from the promotional package that says "there is plenty to cry about"? This sort of crass commercialism turned me away from Harry Potter, but even that franchise didn't stoop to kid's meals! Grr. The makers of these meals shall meet a terrible retribution, at least in my fantasy world. Grr. And again, grr.
