How soon after the book's release do the audio CDs and cassettes come out? Is there word whether or not Tim Curry will be reading TGG?

I havent heard any of the audiobooks yet (I dont really care too, I like to read them and hear them in my head as they speak instead), but I hate stuff that is abridged unless its some boring book for English class. ^_^

DH is keeping more things from us after TSS. It's maddening. Or maybe he was just undecided about the title so he just smudged it to buy him some more time.

Abridged refers to a book or a book on tape that is simplified to be made easier to read. For example, War and Peace is often abridged. Unabridged means it was kept exactly the same. Aren't most of the audio books unabridged?

Additionally, there's a new Gothic Archies song that opens and/or closes each one. One of these days I'm going to have to rip them all from the CDs. Anyway, I read them first, but I go through a lot of audiobooks at work- helps me focus.

Aren't most of the audio books unabridged? Actually, most audio books are abridged, to keep them in that lucrative $20 price point, and 2-hour attention span. I was always ticked off that two of my favorite books were abridged on audio because there were dozens of quotes that I wanted samples of, but weren't included. Not only that, but the actual narratives were completely butchered. What's the point? If you're in the market for audiobooks, just know that most will be abridged...keep an eye out for unabridged editions. They're more expensive, but honestly, I don't understand why authors allow anything else.

Abriged can also refer to a book/audio book that is shortened, like a chapter or 2 or various "useless" paragraphs removed to make teh reading much shorter and easier to live through.
