According to www.yourmovies.com.au/releaseDates/, the movie will be released in Australia on Thursday, December 16. Which could mean that those of us confined to the southern hemisphere could have complete reviews by the the afternoon of the 15th in the US. It could be a mistake in the dates on the web site, but a lot of movies do open on Thursdays here, so it's quite possible.

In Australia, its December 16th, but since the times are messed up, its the same day as the U.S.

That must be a mistake. They can't release the movie in Australia before America, where the movie was made and where the actors come from.

where the movie was made and where the actors come from. Remember that Emily Browning comes from Australia, but I don't think it is the reason. When new release dates are official I will update this topic: International Release Dates

Remember, time zones. I could be wrong, but those two dates could fall on the same day, just not on the same date.

Seeing as I live in Australia now, and lived in the United States for 23 years, I'm quite aware of what time it is both here and there. When it is say, 12 noon in Melbourne on December 16, it is 10 pm in New York on December 15. The east coast of Australia is 14 to 16 hours ahead of the east coast of the United States, depending on daylight savings time. So even if the movie is released on the 17th here, we here in Australia will still see it that long before Americans do. Also, they can release it a day early if they feel it will pull in more profit from the box office. It's not freakin' Star Wars where they're worried about spoilers sending geeks into fits.

Oh do be quite u lot. There is NOTHING wrong with it coming out in Australia. The Harry Potter series comes out in England WEEKS before we have a chance to see it. Every other good movie gets out in America first, eg. Lord of The Rings, so why not let us have a little bit of fun for awahil, huh? Any way, might as well rub it in as I can... I'll tell u ALL about it when it comes out here.... hee hee

She even played the younger sister of Australia's greatest bushranger (in Ned Kelly). And she was in that crappy ghost ship movie. (Not Pirates of the Carribbean, that one was good.)

They probably have good reason for releasing it earlier in other places. But I don't mind as people don't spoil the movie for us people in the US. BTW, the movie is released on my birthday in the US.

I never realized how unrealistic power rangers was. But this is off the subject. So...yes. I wonder why the movie is being released earlier in other countries.
