If - IF - there is a sequel, when do you think it will come out, i doubt it will be anytime next year, as summer would be too soon, and Nov. (HP4, Cars -pixar movie, new James Bond) and Dec.(King Kong, Chronicles of Narnia) are pretty packed already (i am soo excited for next year ;D, the first Narnia movie is coming out, and the new Batman)

They'll definantly have a sequel, I'm sure. If they do, it'll probably come out anywhere from December 2005 to February or even March of 2006.

As talking to my insider, he said that talks for a sequel are starting, but the only way theyll make a sequel is if the first one is successful. He said they have no idea when it would be released.

The rights to the film were bought in May 2004. It has taken 4YEARS to get this first film made, so i think we should count ourselves luck that we FINALLY have this first one coming out. . . but it would be nice if we had a follow up. The first one is not even out yet and I am already thinking about the second (as i know many of you are), i am more excited about that one than this one which is so close, probably because that one will open up the whole VFD thing.
Also, you know how HP has all these sophisticated websites like Leaky Cauldron, and Mugglenet, and the like; and some of them have gotten to go to the premiere and interview the actors, do you think that after this one, ASOUE will follow? The best one i know about is Snicket Source, but that doesn't come up on any of the search engines. Maybe after the movie is released, more people will be interested in the books

Ill bet on next xmas to 2006, but thats the highest Im going. the only reason this one has taken so long is because of so many false starts and change of directors and budget complains and whatnot. If this one hits it big, the next one will be along soon enough, Im sure.

Not only all the delays but also since all these new movies that are coming likepop was saying earlier. Like "Shadowmancer"( maybe that will come after; I'm not sure) and Shrek 3(2006). And don't forget HP. Have they got the new kid who's playing HP yet? (Not like I want to know, I'm not even into them it's just I bet by evil Snicket-hater friend will want to know.He got mad at me because I said "Why do you read that - that thing you call HP?" and now he starts saying "Oh, so you're telling me Lemony whats-his-face is better than this? It makes me sick to hear that talk; especially from a former Snicket liker.I don't know what is wrong with him but he is the best hipocrit (SP) I've ever seen.)

The war between A Series of Unfortunate Events and Harry Potter annoys me. CAN'T WE JUST ALL SHADDUP AND READ THE SERIES WE LIKE IN PEACE?!

Personally, I enjoy both series, I just like Snicket better. Neither can be compared, its just a matter of taste. No need to insult them, just say you dont like one or the other, and walk away.
I meant all of the delays for the first film, not the second one. There probable wont be so much pandamoneum over the second film if the first one makes a lot of money. The holiday lineup for next year doesnt really make much of a difference, since if this movie brings in a bunch of cash (and Im sure it will), theyll jump to make the next one and beat out all of the other films with an iron fist of family film. Just look at Spy Kids. they made those movis so fast because of money and because they wanted to use the same kids before they grew up, making them too old to play the spy kids. And still, both sequels (or at least the second film) came out strong (even if the third one sucked).

I don't really mind the war . . . as a matter of fact i am about readyt to start some of the battles. Sometimes it can lead to some really cool and interesting debates, but that is only when people are mature enough to keep their heads, and know that it is just a conversation, so i will be very careful where i start these HP vs ASOUE conversations.
You can find the strength of both of the series and what kind of people each appeals to.
