I am really annoyed, the whole concept of this book is that klaus gets hypnotised because of his glasses, and now in the films he doesn't wear them.....

Don't know about the hat. Maybe Monty was making them do something that required the use of a hat with a flashlight on top. Perhaps one of his specimens are ill? Or maybe they're just catching the snakes' dinner.
Well, maybe they slip something into Klaus's water or something, which makes him dizzy, the foreman says that he might need a stronger prescription for his glasses, and so on with the story.

For some reason, I thought the "miner's hat" scene was in the TBB portion of the movie. The background shows a bookshelf and a potted plant, if that helps us any.

I think that a man like Count Olaf wouldn't have too many books cluttering up his house. If he did, I'm sure he only kept them in his tower, or the orphans would have sorted through them when they were looking for cookbooks.

AAAAAAAAAAAH *pulls out hair*
He wears his glasses, only when hes reading, okay?
By the way, I have a good solution for TMM portion of the second film if they use that book for the movies:
Klaus and his sisters are working at the lumbermill, when suddenly the bald man with the long nose KICKS SAWDUST INTO HIS EYES. Bam, off to the optometrist (sp?)! Simple as that.
Sorry if I sound a little mean, but I just get toughy when people break records around here.

Holywood always finds a way to do something. They work out TMM fine (hopefully)

Chances are, they wont use TMM for the movies. So far, it hasnt been very important. I do hope they use all of them, but you never know.
