In TWW, Pg. 207. Olaf is being accused of many things and then he adds: " 'and arson'. Then, 'I said that's enough,' Mr Poe growled.Count Olaf, the Baudelaires and even the massive creature looked surprised that Mr Poe had spoken so sternly." Why did Mr Poe speak like that unless he wanted to hide something. I mean, even Olaf and his assistant were surprised.

Which supplements my theory that Mr. Poe is also being controlled by Olaf. It makes waaaayyy too much sense for it to be coincidence.

no, he ignored the telegram because his sister told him too. She said this in LSUA. But this letter she sent to Mr. Poe was suspected to be forged by Count Olaf or Olaf forced her to write it like he did with Josephine.

It's possible that both Mr. Poe and his sister are unwilling, unsuspecting pawns of Olaf. Either that or they work for him.
It would be interesting if Mr. Poe told Olaf where he'd sent the Baudelaires, at times when Lulu was unreliable. Olaf sends one of his henchmen, in disguise, to ask for the location of the children, promising to give Mr Poe money, a spare top hat, or some cough syrup if he tells. If that fails, the henchman threatens Mr Poe with a sharp object. That's an old theory of mine.

Yes, because how could Madam Lulu have known that they were going to the Heimlich Hospital. Come on it wouldnt have been in any papers. Sam in TMM, Sir NOT Lulu wouldve told him they were at Lucky Smells because it says in TBBRE that Sir was bad and same with Nero.

well, olaf DID work with mr. poe a long time ago, hint COUNT olaf, well there are other reasons why hes called count, but it says in mr, poe, and his sisters conversation that he did work with olaf, i dont have the book with me right now, but he did work with him

good theory I think that mr.poe is workin with olaf because in TWW and other books poe doesn't even go after him
