(sure, you get the second character spot)
'It's nothing!' Olaf was quick to remark. 'But no worries, we're rowing in a completley direction.' What followed a quiet and feeble giggle from Olaf, which the children found more ridiculous then his previous theatrical laughter. 'Baudelaires?' suddenly cried a voice from the figure, as it came towards them. The children could see that it was another boat, and standing aboard it was someone they recognized well.

Violet gasped twice because she was shocked that Olaf had overheard her and she was shocked by the new arrival.

"Baudelaires! So nice to see you!" snickered Phil. "That's right! The optimisim was all a good display of acting! I know have Widdershins tied up in the back of this boat!" (Enter Smelly or someone else as Widdershins)

"Phil!" Klaus cried. "You're on Olaf's side? But why?" He didn't expect an answer to the last question, and took several steps back worriedly.

'Did you really think someone could be that optomistic!' Olaf cried angrily. 'The world is such a harsh place to be optomistic in, Baudelaires.'

"Yes", said Phil. "How could someone be optimistic after all I've been through? I had to live on gum and casserole for months just to spy on you kids. I almost got sawed in half by Olaf's other henchman. I even survived a shark attack. I'm actualy one of the most pessimistic people alive."

"But Phil, why would you want to side with such a trecherous man, he was the one who caused that terrible accident at the mill. Was that all an act?" cried Violet. "Help us Phil please, it's not to late to convert and together we could bring Olaf to justice!"

'Oh be quiet!' Count Olaf yelled. 'I ORDER you to be quiet. I'm the captain of this boat, and if you don't do what I say, you can join Widdershins-tied up and trapped!'

Phil looked as if he considered what Violet had said for a moment, then shrugged it off and yelled,"O.K., let's set sail for that deserted island".

Violet hesitated before she returned to her post at the spatula, thinking that she might be in better circumstances tied up than being subjected to hard labour. However the idea of being tied up for an unknown lengh of time did not seem to pleasant.

"Okay Olaf, take your slaves and put them on my bigger and faster ship. We'll get their in half the time", shouted Phil.

Klaus glanced at his sisters. It didn't matter what ship he was on, he knew, they were both controlled by villainous people. Since he would be forced onto the other ship anyway, he stepped out onto it voluntarily.

Violet took her Sunny's hand, looked at Klaus hopelessly as if to say "There's nothing we can do" and followed Phil onboard the new ship.

Olaf raised a hand to give Phil a high-five, but the former lumbermill worker did not accept his gesture. Olaf frowned. 'Well!' he cried. 'It seems I've finally got you, Baudelaires! For months on end I've been trying to capture you and steal your fortune! But you've escaped and escaped and escaped, and every time you do, I die a little inside! I rip out some of my hair! But aha!' he cried. 'But aha to you, because you are now-'
Olaf paused, and stared with a frightened espression on his face. The Baudelaires frowned, but then saw that he was looking straight past them, and at something else out aheaf.
