Does anyone else think that the style of roleplaying dosen't suit them? I want to look for people who are more interested in roleplaying with detail. You know? Staying in character. Being able to make the plot interesting without having to be outrageous. Not to be offensive to those of you who RP but there are A LOT of Mary-Sue characters. Infact I've made my character a Mary-sue ish so that I can keep the plot working.
Once again no offence but I just want to roleplay with someone who isn't playing another spectacular orphan!

Sorry, mine's a spectacular orphan. Actually, all three of mine are.

Indeed it seems that all characters are Mary-Sueish. That is just the way things go. If you would like to do a more realistic roleplay game, I'm up for it. I'll make up a new character, but when the events like those in ASOUE happen, Mary Sues are inevitable.

I think so... Every time I go onto an ASOUE RP site I see the same characters....Baudelaire siblings too....*Eye roll* My original Hanna character was supposed to be Jerome's adopted daughter after Esme leaves him.

We know, Hanna. A lot of my characters are pretty lame.

But I think that Mary Sue characters are just a way to express creativity. They aren't meant to be taken too seriously anyway.

Yeah. The way I come up with most of my characters is as follows: *idea* Hey, why don't I make up a character that *something* I can name her *something*!

Most ASOUE characters are Mary Sues in their own sense.

My three characters are total Mary Sues. Even the boys.

Mine are mostly from TV or books. I don't have much of an imagination for people.

This is talked about quite a bit in the NMBC RP site I go to sometimes. My charicters: Crystal Baudelaire (Yeah, she's orphaned, but not very mary-sue-ish; I don't think so, anyway.) and Sugary Snicket (Who is not orphaned, she works for VFD.), as most know. I'll tend to play the latter of the two.

Baudelaire siblings are the worst of the Mary sues!
