Have you ever wondered if Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler) ever reads this forum? It's a possibility. Does he....
Read our good theories and marvel at our cleverness?
Read our bad theories and marvel at our carelessness?
Read our slashfics and marvel at our develop a nervous facial twitch?
It's certainly something to consider.

Anyone else suspect that DH could be reading our posts? I'd like to hear what you think.
I imagine that he reads Snicket forums in his spare time, but not just this one. At another forum I was at, someone posted with the name "Daniel Handler", but what he said was suspect due to his poor typing. This was probably an impersonator, but you have to wonder.

It's a very scary thought. I would read the forums and FAQs if I were him. Oh my gosh! Maybe he's a member and some of the older members have called him a newbie. I could just imagine it. The author we all worship being told stf u really cool member by __________ (insert random newbie bashing old member.)
He's unlikely to reveal his identity, then he would have to leave.
If you want to sniff him out, look for a person with impeccable grammar and spelling, posts a lot in the leering literature section, and nobody really knows.

They'll also not have any extra details in their profile. They'll try and be as secretive as possible.
I do doubt he comes here. If anywhere, I reckon he'd go to the official board.

It's a very scary thought. I would read the forums and FAQs if I were him. Oh my gosh! Maybe he's a member and some of the older members have called him a newbie. I could just imagine it. That idea is quite an unnervator (I think it's pronounced with the accent on the "ner"). However, I think DH would be mature enough to escape even the harshest newbie-basher's bashing. Perhaps he would never even post. I'll make a note of that. Also, look for elevated diction, a phrase which here means "fancy sounding writing used to impress people at message boards". And possibly the "phrase/word which here means..." thing. Whales, what do you mean by the "official" board? |

He probably would enjoy reading this forum; lurking at other people's web forums is fun. I used to be a total forum-lurking addict. However, you've got to wonder how he'd react to some of the more, um, outlandish, fanfics. If I were him, I would be taken a great deal aback, but then again I'm not him. Please remember that.

I wouldnt be surprised if he read this board. I mean its a highly popular board. JK Rowling always looks around some of her fansites (as she said so herself.) He probably could be someone who probably never posts. Look for someone whos on every once in a while but never posts.

That's certainly a possibility; however he's apparently ignored my little italicized implorations for him to post. If any of you meet DH at a book signing, ask him if he lurks and/or posts at Snicket forums, and which ones he frequents. Maybe this will come up in an interview sometime. I've got to find more interviews with him.

Try e-mailing the question to the FAQmaster of the one on angelfire. If you're very lucky, he may forward it to his friend, who will then forward it to Daniel Handler. If you look in the "Meredith Replied" topic under 'sardonic series,' a few people got together and sent him a letter of questions... including asking whether he is familiar with this forum. So, if we get a reply, then you'll have your answer.
