Ouch. I really didn't like it, his voice. And he's not much of a speaker in general, either. Maybe he doesn't like his voice either, so he doesn't speak much and in turn he's bad at it. At least, that's how it is for me. But I don't want to sound that self-absorbed.
Anyway, you can hear his voice--if you'd want to--on Meet the Writers, BarnesandNoble.com. He has a nine minute...something and a two minute warning about TGG.

Oh my God THIS IS SO EXCITING! I love his voice! He's so modest! HAHA! He just said that the actors were destroying their careers and living under cardboard boxes and apparently they wanted to end their acting careers. Luis Guzman- he just said that they were trying to get him out of the house because they found his weapons! He just finished a love story called Adverbs. He just siad that a child who was interested in love could read it but it's for adults and that it's relatively miserable but less miserable than the ASOUE books. This is so exciting!

I KNOW!!! Didn't he say witty clever things? And sound so sort of awkward and sad and awesome and loudish in sort of a funny way? Like he didn't think he was saying clever things, but we all knew he was?
Oh crap... if he's reading this. *guards self* Darn you, Tocuna! Darn you like socks!
I especially like the part about Edward Gorey, which was pretty humourous... especially since I tried to draw the Baudelaires Edward Gorey-style, which failed. Not that that matters.
The ticking thing was funny... it appeals to my exact sense of humour. And the thing about calling people like his publisher crazy.
Also, I want to know about adverbs... when's it coming out? Because I need to pre-order it as soon as possible.
And yes... awesome guy...

The Edward Gorey part was MOSSOME! I wonder if it really happened.
DH sounds sort of like this lady who works at the local book store except he has a more masculine voice.

I don't like it when he talks about how horrible the books are that they're capable of killing someone...I laughed, but I felt bugged... He is witty, though. But erg...is VOICE. I hope it doesn't ruin the way I hear the books when I read them...

I loved his voice. It was a lot more masculine than I expected, but I thought it was very Daniel Handler-y. And he's so witty and great. Especially the part about him learning how to play the accordion. Greatest thing ever.

When I heard the audiobooks, his voice freaked me out, because I didn't know what his face looked like (this is several years ago). But his face doesn't match his voice. But I like it. He's unique.
And he likes to read. And write. And I love his sense of humor...
He's going to release an album with Stephin Merritt with all the Audiobook songs! Whee!

Daniel Handler has such a strange, yet wonderful voice. He sounds rather shy during the long audio essay, as if he hasn't done much of this sort of thing. Anyway, I love his sense of humor. The books have failed to fail, sayeth he. Comparing them to the ebola virus, however, was a little freaky.

I expected a more...husky or gravelly voice and maybe a bit deeper.

I loved it! His voice is classic. I like the part about that other author dying because he read Lemony's books, and how all the actors in the movie r gonna end up in cardboard boxes and that their careers will end because of the movie.

His voice is so adorable. Somewhat monotone, but it makes whatever he says much funnier.
My god. I don't know how he can get away with comparing the books to the ebola virus and talking about books in which a witch cuts off a child's head, but the fact that he does makes this the most purely concentrated mass of AUDIAL AWESOME in the whole white world.
I want to party with him.

Yes, Luna! PARTY with Daniel Handler! When you're rich & famous from illustrating, throw a big party and invite him. And me. And we can party down to Stephin Merritt playing the banjo. You know you want to!
