The Nick cartoon Yakkity Yak has a girl character named Lemony. Weird. Eerie. Possibly a tribute of some sort. Discuss. That's her on the left:

There's a theory that my teacher had thatLemony's a girl but there's nothing to back it up and she's a bloody sod because she flunked me in behavior because I made this girl cry once by playing a mind game on her.

That reminds me: I read a review of the books by someone whose son is a big fan. The writer said something like "my son thinks Lemony is a woman and that the Baudelaires are real". Lemony seems like a unisex name. Fake edit: Found the article: books.guardian.co.uk/departments/childrenandteens/story/0,6000,611852,00.html

if lemony snicket was a woman, why would(s)he be in love with Beatrice.
unless that is a man's name.
and ryan is the name of a species of lizard.

Ahhh, until I did some research on (and read) ASoUE, I thought Lemony was a woman.

Actually, I thought that would be a cool turn-out, too, when I'd only read the first few. But once the auto-biography came out, it seemed pretty apparent that he was male, right? Well, and the bios at the backs of books refer to him as "he".

Well, you know, Lemony could easily be gay, lol. But obviously there are many things that contradict with Lemony being a woman.
I'd name a pet Lemony. And then Orangey and Limey. Do not question my sanity.

Do not question my sanity. seems reasonable to me. well. if lemony snicket was a woman, and SHE was in love with beatrice, publishers would not publish HER books because they might be accused of encouraging same sex relationships, and that wouldnt be very nice for them. tsk tsk. im quite convinced that lemony is male.

Well, and the bios at the backs of books refer to him as "he". But, the back also said that they engaged in woman hunts due to a typo, mabey it wasn't a typo...

LESBIAN LEMONY!! Hooray! But yes, that could possibly be the reason that they couldn't get married. A superbonus of that would be that DH could sneak some more politics into the books. God, that would be so cool. Can I ++claim this for a fanfic idea? OH YES.

XD I can't wait to see it, Mecilia. Actually, it seemed probable before I did research...
