Is there a thread about the movie Rick? I am asking under the Weary Writer, because it is written by Daniel Handler, but maybe it should go somewhere else? I saw the movie last night and it was interesting. Has anyone here seen it? It is Rated R, so maybe it is unlikely that the majority of board members would be able to watch it, but I've noticed some of you read his adult novels, so maybe you would watch it. Daniel Handler is also in it for about 2 seconds and he talks a little bit about it in the special features on the DVD.

I rented it on DVD from Blockbuster. There is a lot of language and sexual content. I liked it. My husband din't like it so much. There were some clever plot twists. It is based on the opera Rigalleto which is interesting I guess. Here is a link to reviews of it on Rotten Tomatoes: www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1136509-rick/

Yeah I ordered it off Amazon but I wasn't that impressed to be honest. Not recommended unless your a major Handler freak.
*Looks around at everybody on the boards*
Well,what are you waiting for?
The interview with Handler on the special features (The biggest reason to buy the dvd IMO) is only like a minute long.

Oooh, I love Rigoletto. And Daniel Handler.
I MUST SEE THIS FILM.
Seriously, I do love Rigoletto, though. I saw it at the opera house in the city I live near... BRILLIANT.

I rented it last week from Blockbuster. I loved it--everything was wonderful and I'm a fan of Bill Pullman.
It's very interesting--Sandra Oh's character was the only one I could stand (and that was just because I pitied her), and the Remote Lounge? That was the creepiest thing about the movie. I guess it's that whole thing with the cameras. I did love how they had Duke on the screen as he was preparing to leave so we could see how Rick was acting as well...
I loved it. But then, it might be because I'm a huge Daniel Handler Freak. I actually squealed when he popped up as the Perky Waiter.
