Dear 667rs -
This is the official Daniel Handler Birthday Present thread. Now, this will take some organising so I will require assistance from a few people. Please PM me if you can help - really help, though I only need about 2 people. Also, since this thread is all about presents, we need presents! What ever it is, fanfictions - ASOUE, TB8 and WYM -, fanart, random drawings, letters, whatever. Just scan them, or upload them, and send them to my GMAIL account: OliverDH@gmail.com Thank you for this and if you have any questions, post them here and I'll get back to you.
- X.V.
P.S: stickyplzkthnx.

Are you going to actually send these to Handler? Do you have his address?

Truly ridiculous of you all to try to send him presents, I assure you he will not receive them . . . Nice of you to try . . .

Have you ever mailed him a letter? My students have when we were writing to authors. Even though we mailed the letter to Harper-Collins in New York, the letter we received in return (which was just a form letter) was postmarked in San Francisco. Does the publisher forward the letters and he sends out form letter answers? Does he have a staff, or would he read it? I don't know. He might.

He might read it, but bear in mind he also lives in San Fran'.

He only does form letters. It's not worth it.

He only does form letters. It's not worth it. ONLY is a very restricting word. I sense a challenge!

I really like that avatar!
Maybe we could make him an avatar. Hahaha, yeah right! Sorry, no ideas. Being in school does that to a person.

Hey everybody! Daniel Handler's birthday is only about 6 weeks away. We need to get organized if we're going to send him a birthday message.
If you have your doubts about him actually receiving the message, let me tell you that I have an inside source at Harper-Collins and I'm hoping we can really do it.
So, let's hear it. What would you like to do for DH?

Don't listen to those naysayers. I have sent Mr. Handler two presents and gotten two handwritten thank you notes. I think he gets his presents. The last one I sent was the Baudelaire pumpkin at Halloween and his publisher's assistant called my house to tell me that not only had Mr. Handler received it, but they took a picture of it and sent it to Brett Helquist. I don't write this to brag, but just to encourage you to do it. Send presents!
I just haven't thought of what to send for a B-day present yet. Last year I just sent him a telegram.

That is the coolest thing ever. Do you have any photographs of the Baudelaire pumpkin?
