I've only received one submission so far. Has enthusiasm for this project died? You weren't counting mine in there, were you? That reminds me, I need to go finish my final copy.

Um, I want to contribute, but I don't really know what to do. Any suggestions?

Just draw your depiction of the characters or something, and then write a little note on the back complimenting his work.

Um, no. I want to do something that isn't stupid.

What about writing a letter ala Lemony Snicket? Use "a word which here means" and such. Tell him how much you admire his work and wish him a happy birthday.
Or is that stupid too?

Do you have any other ideas? No?
Then don't go insulting my ideas.

I have plenty of ideas, just none which are any good. Unlike you, I recognize that fact.
I'm always bothered by people who write things in Snicket-style. I mean, it's his style, it feels so cheap to use it. I'd rather be creative on my own, you know? Except that I'm not.
Eh, I won't submit anything. I have nothing of value to submit.

If you have your own ideas, then use them. If you don't like our suggestions, too bad. You asked for them.
It would be nice if you would submit something since you obviously want to and have some ideas. It's a birthday book, do something birthday-ish.

I've always thought your English is very good. And I think Daniel Handler would be impressed by how far-reaching his books are. I encourage you to write something anyway. You could post it here and we could help fix any English problems before you sent it.

Could you write it in Polish and also provide an English translation?

Yes, I agree! I think DH would really like that.

Having something from a Polish fan would really be cool. You should definitely send him a message, Random.
Eh, I think I have the same problem as Shruti. I can't decide what to do. I feel really bad about it, too; I've been a fan for ages and really wish I could think of something unique to give him.

I think that would be wonderful! You'll have to email it, though. We don't have time for snail mail. Items in color (pictures) need to be sent to Gigi; black/white items can be sent to me. I'll PM you my email address.

I can't figure out what I'd like to send him either. I don't normally write fanfics and I have poor art skills. I would hate to not send him something though.
