Is Lemony Jewish? I know that he wrote a book about the screaming ladtke but that's not just what caught my attention. During the passover celebration, Jewish people use a lot of horseradish in the ceremony. Is this why the antidote yo the fungus is this and what about his book about horseradish?

Daniel Handler is Jewish, yes, and he's admitted to working a few Jewish themes into the books-- for instance, persistence in the face of suffering, constant questioning, and the bitter truths symbolized by horseradish. What's questionable is whether his characters are really intended to be Jewish; nobody in the Series seems to profess a specific religion. But here's something Handler said in an interview:

I'm not so sure about the characters having a religeon-- Handler left that out. I think what he meant in the interwiew mentioned was that whenever authors create characters, some characters always have a reflection of them. The only thing that seems remotely Jewish or Christian in the series is really the mentioning of the 'incredably deadly viper' the Biblical story of Adam and Eve, and one or two other things

Well, he was born in San Francicso, California. I didn't gather any information on his religion but I read a book that explains that a major concern in his life was The Holocaust, but I agree with EyeAndInsignia. - MasterKlaus247
