Tragedy didn't give her the power to view the security log.

That doesn't make sense. She's the only one with admin powers.

Only the main "admin" account (the one with the username "admin" that is automatically created upon the forum's registration at ProBoards, and which I don't believe can ever be deleted) can view the Security Log; ADR's account is a regular account that has been promoted to a (customised, apparently) Administrator rank. And if you'll look on the staff list, the old admin account is still there, with (renamed) administrator power, so she isn't the only one with admin powers (although apparently Tragedy is the only one with access to that account at the moment, although he's using his new account).

Oh, I didn't realize that account still existed. Never mind then.

Although I'm not happy about being accused (and in such an inconsiderate fashion, ADR) I understand why you might think I did this. But I didn't. Here's my side of the story. I was online this morning at around 6:00 when I received a PM (Subject: password) from ADR. Here it is:
hey tragedy, I tried out the password you gave me for the admin account but it didn't work. What is the real password?
Message sent on Today at 6:15am.
I thought this was strange because I don't remember giving ADR the admin password in the first place, so I replied in a very cautious, ambiguous way ("make sure it's capitalized" or something like that). PJ will be able to confirm my surprise because we were chatting on MSN and I told him about the exchange.
Also, what good would it do me to have access to ADR's account?
I agree that this is a problem, and I think you should continue to investigate it. In fact, if it wasn't ADR then this becomes an even greater issue because it means that someone is not only trying to get access to ADR's account, but to the abandoned admin account, which is a bit more powerful. Someone is being dishonest. Good luck. By the way, what's the story with Dupin and PJ's accounts?

Right. But what I don't get is why the person controlled her account for a few minutes to send me that PM, and then lost it so that ADR could log in later this morning.

I can answer that. Although it would be fun to think she was lying through her teeth at that moment, I did give her my password. That was the password to the account I am currently using (tragedy).

What happened with my account is that I just had an email in my inbox telling me to verify that my email had been changed. At the time I wasn't sure if it was much, so I just deleted it (I should have kept it so I could find out the email that was used) and then I PMd ADR asking if it had happened to anyone else too.

So even though she's the "admin", she doesn't have access to the admin account, right? That would explain a lot, like why she can't see the Security Log.

The only person who can make, edit and delete member groups, as well as view the security log, is the main "admin" account. Unless you go on the account yourself, ADR, you can't access it from your current account.

All you important types should make this board restricted. If the hacker is someone from 667 which isn't necessarily a given then you are giving them a load more information.
Also don't forum- running types have seriously hardcore anti- virus/ anti- hacker protection?
You peeps need a copy of Norton Security Suite or that free one- AVG.
