Isn't 'baticeer' an anagram for Beatrice?

Yes, just like "My Silence Knot" is an anagram of "Lemony Snicket." I presume they came up with the anagrams for their names themselves as in-jokes, and their lives fitted those anagrams to a certain extent (or they made them fit).

That's really clever! But I'm still confused as to when, exactly, Olaf's parents died. If the poison darts left him an orphan, then how old was he when they were murdered? And how old were Beatrice and Bertrand?

Dewey Denouement is described as an orphan in TPP, in the present tense while he is an adult, suggesting that the books aren't particularly preoccupied with how old someone is so long as their parents aren't alive. The date of the death of Olaf's parents is left very vague, with the only definite information being that the Baudelaire parents were probably already married, but I think there's circumstantial evidence to suggest it happened after Sunny's birth, and it makes rather more sense to me that it was a relatively recent event.

"A piece of mail fails to arrive on time ; this poignant melodrame is based on fact."I still CAN'T believe I didn't recognize such an obvious allusion to "Romeo and Juliet." Shame ! Shame on me !

And how old were Beatrice and Bertrand? Most likely very old, since Lemony has O. in a class with him. O. description is such.: O. "Who is nothing but an annoyance. As I write he is filling his notebook with anagrams of obscene words. I'm tempted to tell him there is no such things as "a wet viper perm," but after the incident with the bottle of ink and the root beer float, I think its better to spend my time inside "My Silent Knot" whenever that nitwith raises his ugly, one-eyebrowed head." LS to BB #2 This is Olaf on the 'noble' side of schism, if the schism has happened yet. In class with Lemony they therefore it can be assumed that they are within what 2, 3 years of each other.

Apparently the schism happened when Dewey and Kit were 4-5 years old, so yeah, it had happened already. I assume that Olaf lost his parents when he was a very young adult, or in his late teens. He's considered as an orphan not necessarily because of his age at the time of the murder, but due to the fact that this loss wass kinda forced upon him at a time when he should have still been able to enjoy their company and support.
