Well, they probably will do something to get around showing a dead body.

Although that poster on imdb doesn't seem insincere, they must have changed something in the script, because they hired someone to play Uncle Monty. They probably wouldn't bother paying Billy Connolly a million dollars if his only time on screen was in puppet form. www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/news/20031215.shtmlCONNOLLY JOINS HOLLYWOOD'S MILLION-DOLLAR CLUB -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Billy Connolly has joined the list of Hollywood actors who can command $1million a movie. He secured the sum after landing a role in a movie based on the Lemony Snicket children's books 'A Series of Unfortunate Events', according to trade journal The Hollywood Reporter. The 61-year-old comic will star as Uncle Monty, in a cast that also features Jim Carrey, Meryl Streep and Jude Law. He has joined an elite club of British actors who can earn such sums thanks to his role alongside Tom Cruise in the blockbuster The Last Samurai, currently topping the American box office. Connolly reportedly joked to a friend: "What does $1m buy you these days anyway?" Also, what would prevent them from showing a dead body in a movie? Even rated G films are allowed to talk about death. Remember Bambi's mother? Anyway, with the PG or PG-13 rating this movie is sure to get, I don't think a little corpse will get the critics' feathers ruffled.

By the way J, is there something wrong with your dog's leg, or is it just at a funny angle?

My dog? Oh, it's not mine, it's a pic I found on the web of my favorite dog.

You're assuming that what this person saw was the final shooting script, which is very doubtful since it was so long ago, and movie scripts often change dramatically by the time they are actually filmed.
Who knows if the puppet thing stayed in? Again, it's doubtful since it was announced that Uncle Monty has been cast.

Was this person a fan of ASOUE? Daniel Handler himself wrote the first draft, so I think it's safe to assume that he is a fan. I believe Robert Gordon took it from there: www.imdb.com/title/tt0339291/fullcredits

There's another post after that post on the imdb message board that says that although that was what was originally in the script, it's been changed now.

As hilarious and innovative I thought the idea would be to get things to run quicker, I do know that isnt the case anymore. Ive recently talked to an inside source of mine name Chris Corrado, a Production Assistant on the frilm, who tells me that since teh movie is based off of the first 3 books, each part of the story gets about the same attention. Have no worries, people. We will in fact get to see a real Reptile Room for the movie and all of the major parts of the book will be in it. By the way, my insider source also tells me that whenever we see teh sets, particularly teh set for the Reptile Room, we are gonna freak at how cool they are. He says have no worries on anything, for production is now moving much more smoothly than it was before.

Well, according to my source, its wont. He says theyve already finished shooting the major parts for THE REPTILE ROOM sequences.
