all the posts I've read all they say is this movie is gonna suck bla..bla...bla...lets have some faith Lemony did help pick who was gonna play Olaf and he did write the script {yes it was rewritten but it still is Lemony in it) so lets give the movie a chance and not critisize it before we see it, and lets support Lemony and the movie.....glad I got that off my chess.

Well, all the die-hard fans on this site are afraind it will shame the books. If the movie sucks, it might ruin some people's perception of the books. I agree we should give it a chance, but with such a dissappoiting trailer, it's a bit hard.

Im a die-hard fan and Ive been keeping track of all the details I can get on the movie (and of course future book releases and merchandising), and I cant wait to see this movie! Im very glad its going to be made, as Ive said several times. But, I find it quite useless to try and change the minds of people, because its not gonna happen. And while all those people say they think the movie will flop, or at least be bad, they will go and see it.
Anyway, my point it, I cant wait because it looks like itll be fun! And I understand the fright of having one's imagination and perception of the original idea changed, but heres how I look at it:
If we want we can still like the books even if the movie sucks. And in my mind, I see the movie only as the imagination of someone else, and that doesnt have to influence my own.
Share your thoughts, people, because I would sure love to hear them.

i think most of us are afraid that the series is gonna sell out to the general public, and ignore the diehard fans wishes to make the movie true to the books. of course, it is just one persons perception of the books, and yes daniel handler is helping with the script.
but after seeing the movie, if its good or bad, whenever i read the books im going to imagine the characters as they were in the movie, and if it was bad, its gonna make me enjoy the books less.....
as ive said in other threads, changing the books to a movie changes it a lot, because of the style that dh writes them in. the plot is interesting, but without his comical and semi-predictable way of telling it, it loses a lot of interest, and so (kinda like how they made up a lot of stuff in the cat in the hat) they might end up adding a bunch of stuff to the movie just to fill up time...
long response...sorry.....

Like Harry Potter. The book............the writing wasn't amazing, the plot was pretty good, and it was sort of good. But the movie changed all that. Now, when I imagine Ron, I see Rupert Grint, Hermione, I see Emma Watdo, etc.
