It would be cool if for the movie of TCC they played the classic carnival theme with a little more sinister sound and possibly a mad laugh in the back round

I have the perfect music for the beginning. It's Snicket scribbling down some notes in the place of Josephines house. The rain is streaming down and dripping off the rim of his hat. HE looks up and starts reading back some notes, into which we would be pulled into the story. Oh, the soundtrack! ;D That would be the "Gone gone" song from the MM tape, it's the best music for anu Snicket film.

I say I would have to agree with BSam on this one, Stephan Merrit would be the best choice. John Williams just wouldn't work, it just wouldn't fit.

yay...thanks...
it's cool how handler and merrit are friends as well... it'll also make it easier for them to communicate ideas so it sounds better

Look at it this way- if Stephan Merrit does the soundtrack, it will get nominated for the best soundtrack oscar, if someone else does it, it will sound like crap.
