I am for cloning, not just of people. We could bring back endangered species such as condors; I love condors. However, I think it's unethical to clone people just for spare organs. Experiments in cloning will advance science, but I don't think I have reason to be cloned. What do you think?

Cloning people for spare organs definitely shouldn't be allowed...that's outright murder in my book. You've created life, whether it has its own unique DNA or identical DNA to another person. You kill the person, you've committed murder. End of story.
Part of something I was reading about cloning humans for the heck of it mentioned an interesting fact. How do we decide who's "worthy" of cloning? In the end, it will probably be the highest bidder...

Yeah, in the end, if human cloning were possible, it wouldn't matter if you've been the best citizen ever or donated all of your money and organs to charity, the rich guys'll win. Besides, I don't know how, but in the end, cloning will have some negative effect on society so there'll be huge law suits over it and it may even do something to your body. So no, I wouln't want to be cloned.

THE WORLD WOULD BE BORING WITH EVERYONE LOOKING ALIKE, EXACTLY ALIKE. SO I'M UP AGAINST IT.

I don't see any reason to clone humans either... now that we know probably could, in theory, I don't see why we feel the need to. We don't need to clone any more sheep or anything either.
Cloning an animal to bring back an endangered species does sound like a good idea, however. There was a cow-like creature that was very endangered and succesfully cloned, using a common farm cow as a surrogate mother. It survived long enough to be born, but died of a disease that scientists believe was not cloning related. If we could clone that species of Galapagos tortoise before it completely dies out, I'd be thrilled. It's scary thinking that there's only one of them left in the world.

I wouldn't want everyone cloned, but I'd want a clone of myself.

Cloning sh0uldn't happen. Except for if you really need it, say for an endangered species

this sort of thing makes my head spin...didn't I post something like this a while back? (nope, it was about uploading to immortality: asoue.proboards11.com/index.cgi?board=discussion&action=display&thread=1067870299) Here you go: If I'm cloned...therefore I am V. 1.0, is the clone "me" as well? Or is it Kobo V. 2.0? Could I benefit from cloned organs made from V 2.0? Or would the clone me take the place of the original "defective" me? Better me than the clone...if I need a new liver and they can clone a liver from my existing DNA, then heck yeah...go for it. You would do the same.

Cloning would be interesting. But you're clone wouldn't be you, it would be like have a perfectly identical twin. You spirit couldn't transfer or anything.

You know, if I wanted to be cloned I'd definitely want to be cloned straight from birth, so that I could have a twin to grow up with. It'd be especially kickass if we were mind-connected or something, although maybe we'd end up pulling a Jennifer/June Gibbons on each other, which would really really suck. I think cloning would be kinda cool though, unless we did it to everyone who had a dime in their pockets. You should undergo numerous background checks and physical stuff like that--though, each clone would probably have its own free will, and not be under direct control of the original person. Cloning for organs sounds fine by me, though. Man, it's kinda like the robot thing, now that I think about t.
