My college is next to a mental institute. It is almost frightening, as I don't know what sort of people are in there, and what if they somehow got to my school... sometimes people coming from there get on the bus, and I wonder what they'll be like, and are they the insane ones or sane ones... *randomly breaks into song* "We watch every day for the bus, and the driver will say, 'That's where lunatics stay.' ...I wonder if he's talking 'bout us." A million points to whoever can name that song.
Hm... I think the criminals should be sent to a mental institution, and try to get help. But have it be a stricter place, where they're also being punished for their crimes.
And, I don't think there's any way to detect MPD/DID (dissociative identity disorder), I've studied it a bit. I don't think it has to do with a chemical imbalence or anything, it's a defense mechanism of the brain: If something traumatizes a child, then they'll split into different 'alters,' so the main person doesn't have to deal with that trauma (as in, they have no memory of it at all).

Schizophrenia isn't funny, guys. Look, I HAVE IT. Got it? So does my Uncle, and his medication isn't helping yet. So don't make fun of people with this. Schizophrenia is heck.

Sorry about my outburst. I was just really anry. Anywho, I'm not sure if I have it. The doctor says I might just have severe paranoia and obsessive compulsive. Nothings for sure. But still, don't laugh at people with problems like this.

Do you hear voices? That would scare me the most. Voices. I hear voice's sometimes. Just fragments. Not long speeches of sentences, just words. It's weird. Then again, I'm weird. Eh...

I've never heard voices thankfully, though I don't see why some people are against or scared of people you suffer mental diseases. I admit, they freak me out a bit, but I can't help but feel sorry for them because they're so helpless, though maybe that sounds mean........

I don't think all people with mental diseases are helpless... that really depends on what they have. Those with Multiple Personality Disorder, for example, are usually better at looking out for themselves than most people, because they've been through a trauma of some sort and so have learned how to defend themselves (i.e. they're good at knowing when someone is lying, they're always very alert/aware of their surroundings, etc).

Nobody in my family has schizophrenia. I live in or at least VERY close to the town where a beautiful mind took place. I've seen the man that the movie is about and my dad went to the college that he went to or worked at i can't remember. My cousin has a brain disease. It's not autism i don't think. I think it's cerebral palsy. He also has problems walking and talking because of it. He has it because when he was born he stopped breathing for a few minutes so his brain got screwed up because he couldn't process. But it's not that bad but he was held back a year in school. We haven't seen him or his father in years because he won't tell us where he lives because he's mad at his parents and his siblings for "not helping him out enough". He probably has a mental disorder but it makes my dad really sad because they used ot be really good friends ad now he doesn't even know where he lives. His wife was cheating on him with many different men which really screwed him up. His step daughter threatened to say that he was abusing her and his son in court so that his son who has the mental problem would be taken away. She was taken away and now lives with her father. But I'm not sure what happened to his ex-wife. She's either still trying to get Nicholas or is living with a new man or is in jail. My dad never really told me because he doesn't talk about it to anyone but his parents and his sister. They are trying really hard to find him but tehy don't even know what state he lives in and he used to own lots of houses because he thought he would get rich by real estate. Thats my family problem...
