Has anyone read this book? I honestly think it's the best book I've read in my life. If you haven't read it, go buy it. Now.

This kid's name is Piscine Molitor Patel. He was named after a swimming pool.
So stop making fun of Pi and go buy the book. Yeah.

Is this review fairly accurate? (http://www.salon.com/books/review/2002/08/01/martel/). Very accurate I forgot to tell you guys that the book has a lot of humor too.

No, not much actually. He just has to use his head to survive and keep faith in the gods (he's a Muslim-Christian-Hindu.)

Man, he was so hilarious! I made a list of cool things he said while he talked... hmm... let me find them....
-Art is the imposition of order on nature
-That he wanted to "blur the line between fact and fiction" and that's why he had two narrators.
-That Hinduism was like Cubism in art
-That his book was like a wrinkled baby... when it first came out people were like, "ugh! It's hideous and purple and wrinkled!" because it was, and later they got to appreciate how great it was.
-He said his other attempts at books "weren't sizzling"
-also said that his book had 100 chapters because people liked that number... and that it had some significance to everyone... and that if he gave it like, 97, mathematicians would be like, "Oooh! 97! That's a prime number! I like that!"
And now I have to go... but he was one of the smartest and funniest people I've ever talked to... yeah. He was GREAT.
