Hum, so, who else loves Agatha's books?
Here, you can discuss your favorite books, plays...uh, anything, of course.
A (short) list of my favorite books of hers would include:
The Body in the Library Spider's Web And Then There Were None/ Ten Little Indians A Murder is Announced and Double Sin and other stories

She is a great mystery writer. I especially loved "And Then There Were None!" Murder on the Orient Express was good too, though.

Spiffy! I havn't read "Murder On the Orient Express" yet. I'm still trying to get over my irrational hatred for Hercule Poirot.
Have you read/ seen the play version of "And Then There Were None" ? It's great, but ends a little differently...

I never read any of her books, but I saw "The Mousetrap" in London. That was a really good play

Spiffy! I havn't read "Murder On the Orient Express" yet. I'm still trying to get over my irrational hatred for Hercule Poirot. BLASPHEMY! I sure hope I spelled that right, or the effect will be really dampened. Anyway, I love Poirot with all my heart! Well, all the parts of it that aren't dedicated to other fictional characters... I mean... well, I love him a lot, anyway. The Big Four 13 at Dinner Murder on the Orient Express The Murder of Roger Ackroyd The ABC Muders Ummm... lord. They rock everything. One summer, I went through about 3 a week. 'twas great. That was back when I had no life. Wait... I still have no life...

Heh heh, don't worry, I have not yet got a life either... And Poriot...ugh...he just bugs me for no appearant reason...yeah... But I understand how you feel. If anyone-ANYONE- dissed Henry from The Secret History (by the genius Donna Tartt...) , I would be...very, very angry. *growls at anyone who thinks of doing such a horrible thing* Um...yeah. That's all. Oh, yes, and has anyone read "The Pale Horse"? I just read it today and...yay! It's just spiffadelic. Yay for Mark and Ginger. But Ms. Oliver was the coolest.

Is that the same Ms. Oliver that was in some of the other ones? The feminist mystery writer? She DID rock. I always loved how stupid Hastings was and how it was obvious Agatha was trying to foil Poirot with him (like Doyle with Watson and Holmes) but it didn't work that well and was just funnily stupid.

Yes, the feminist mystery writer. She rocks...so much...yep. ;D
As for Hastings-I feel so stupid, but I don't know who that is...I'm guessing it's Poirot's friend though. That'd make sense. As for Hastings foiling him...hum...if it's who I think it is, yeah, from the little bit I read, it seemed that way...

Hahah.... right. Yeah, Hastings is Poirot's incredibly stupid sidekick, who is incredibly stupid. And yeah, I thought Mrs. Oliver rocked, too. She was always like, "tut tut! Women's intuition!"

I, uh, uhrm, know this is such an old thread, but I do so love Aggie. Have almost every book she wrote, read most of her stuff as Mary Westmacott. Like her mysteries much better. Mr. Quin is my favorite character... Endless Night favorite book, though. Nice depressing ending. Has anyone read any of her books that man Charles Osbourne is adapting? I don't like them. Grrrr.

Yes, I have, actually. Spider's Web. I din't really like how he adapted it, but I did like the story.
I've never read any of her stuff as Mary Westmacott, having never run across any in the library.

NO ONE'S MENTIONED 'A Sittaford Mystery'! I loved the beginning, possibly because that's all I read? Anyway, I was gonna read 'Murder on The Orient Express' but i decided not to. The programme was much better ;D
