I'm not sure if anyone has said this, but His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. It's a trilogy, 1st-The Golden Compass (originally named The Northern Lights), 2nd- The Subtle KNife, and 3rd-The Amber Spyglass.

Paris to the Moon by Adam Gopnik 6. Chasing Cezanne by Peter Mayle 7. Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne

I liked "Blink" by: Ted Dekker (sp?) It's a religious type book about a college student who is questioning the exsitants of God. Suddenly he starts seeing multiple futures and the outcomes. He has to help a Muslim princess escape from Arabic police trying to kill her. The next book I liked was "A Great and Terrible Beauty" by: Libba Bray. It's a Victorian type mystery/horror/fantasy book about a girl that has visions and can travel to another realm but she has to stop an evil spirit, Circé, from taking control.
