I think they are OK. I wouldn't really say they are a rip-off of ASOUE, cuz they do look/sound alike but when you read them they're completely different.
I have nothing against them books, though I do prefer ASOUE, yet I still like TSC at the same time.

you know, they are good books, written like snicket, but, the plotline is completly different from asoue.you people should give these books a chance. they aren't as good as asoue, but they are quite good books when you get into them. many stories have the plot of 3 children in danger, but handler can't sue every one of them. in conclusion,i would say,lay off tsc, because if you don't want to read them, let's face it.you don't have to. i mean,no-one's forcing you to read them. thank you.
that was the longest ever post i ever made.

Give me a summary, because many people accuse ASOUE being a rip off of HP...so...I might take them out of the 'brary, if the books are there, or osmething.

I've only read the first, but my sister has the second and I should ask for it. The books concern three children and their mother who go to live in a mysterious old mansion, where strange things happen. By variously investigating old trunks, looking in the fridge, and smashing walls, the children discover that the house is inhabited by fairies--excuse me, FAERIES. Intended for young children. Kind of cutesy. Contains the line "What ferret makes his own gross knick-knacks?" Well, that's the first one.

Personally I think they're pretty good. For a children's book. I read each one in one day they were so easy. They're supposed to be coming out with the fifth one soon and the a copy of the Field Guide mentioned in the book. I like them because they had faeries in them but that's just me.
