One of my friends buys a book every time she wants to read it. I always go to the library? What do YOU do?

I get them from libraries. If I really like it, then I'll buy it, but it's nice to preview something before buying it... if it turns out to be a crappy book, I don't want to have spent money on it.
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY, DARNIT!!
*ahem* Sorry... librarian in me coming out, I guess.

Here's the thing about libraries: You have to return books, you don't get to keep the pretty ones, and the books you want are often hard to find. And you get fines if you don't return them. But, actually, I love libraries, and I agree with Celinra. If I bought all the books I read, I'd be drowning in debt (mostly because I have very little money, not because I have the time to devour 2 books a day, sadly).

I love libraries, but my card has a (approximately) $100 fine, so unless my sis lets me use hers, I buy them (when I have money). If there's a book I just know I'll love, I'll go ahead and buy it, if I have money. I also love just being in libraries, but my mom hates that. She likes to read, but she says she'd rather read at home, so she'll never take me.

My local library sucks, so I have to go to a different one which is great, but I have to pay money to go there...

I didn't know you had to pay money just 'cause you live in another area.

There are no libraries where I live. Curse you national debt! Anyway my mom goes to the gym every Saturday until lunch. I go with her and I stay in the bookstore and read. I finished the Narnia series that way. But there is a threat of kidnappers and my mom, paranoid as she is, won't let me stay there unaccompanied. If I'm with anyone, they gradually get tired of it, so I have to go with them. Sigh. Good times.

I love my library.
Except now. Because the online search refuses to acknowledge that there are such things as "Dead Poets' Society" and "Lemony Snicket". *dies*
WHY?

I buy pretty books, I get the rest from the library (then forget them and acquire a huge fine... heh...). I bought The Da Vinci Code... it was too pretty to pass up... and Abarat, which has some of the most the most beautiful illustrations EVER.

That's what I do, If I didn't choose books that way and didn't havea fondness for melancholy, I probably would never have found the ASOUE books. hehe.
