my mom's a librarian, so she just brings home books. but if I really want one to own, she'll order it through the library cause it's less money than at the bookstore.

I buy pretty books, I get the rest from the library (then forget them and acquire a huge fine... heh...). I bought The Da Vinci Code... it was too pretty to pass up... and Abarat, which has some of the most the most beautiful illustrations EVER. Oooh! You've read Abarat? Isn't it wonderful? ! ? You know, the 2nd book's coming out this year.

I never buy books. I just borrow them from the library. It's kind of pointless to buy books unless you are going to read them over and over.

Today at the library, I heard someone say something to the effect of "I'm re-borrowing these," instead of "renewing." I found it amusing. I put it here because it's the topic about libraries.
Anyways... I think it's good to buy books if: a) you're going to read them more than once. b) it will take you longer than 3-6 weeks to read it. c) you will want to frequently look up quotes and/or information from it (i.e. with ASOUE, if you want to go look up a clue, so you don't have to go through the process of going to the libary, hoping it's there, and then maybe being able to get it).

Yep... the only one's I've bought so far were TSS (right when it came out... it was on sale), TBB:RE (again, on sale), and TUA (because that was the one I was taking out of the library the most in order to find clues and such).

it better be. He says in the 4th (and last) book, Candy "finds her sexuality" y'know what that means?

I bet it's because the author is gay.
i own all of the ASOUE books except for TBB:RE because I get them as they are published.

Yeah, but what would Clive Barker being gay have to do with Candy "finding her sexuality"?
I own all of them.
