That's Random passer-by, actually. ;D
I would like to put in that I am totally willing to die for the cause and thus be granted immortality of the kind that comes by death.
...Sorry, I'm such a lurker. Fantastic story, by the way!
Thanks. (:
Another long-ish one. Not to mention a death, that is kind of dramatic, I think anyway.
It was a while before Antenora reached the Travel Inn, for she walked much slower, knowing that she wasn’t making any progress. When she got there she had lunch, a sandwich and a coffee. She didn’t particularly enjoy the sandwich as the bread was stale and the lettuce was soggy, but she was very hungry so she ate it anyway. After she left the money on the table she set off, in the other direction, for the airport.
“1 mile or so down the road” she assured herself.
Back at the airport the remaining 667er’s, except for Dante, met up by the front tyre of the plane.
“Err, is that Sam?” Ashley pointed at the person underneath the tyre of the plane.
“I think it was.” Ennui said, turning round to look.
Amber started to turn but Ennui caught her mid-spin.
“You probably don’t want to look.” He said quickly.
“Is it bad?” She asked, voice shaking.
“Umm,” He looked up at PJ, who nodded. “Yes.”
She stopped turning and sat down, she got back up again as the floor was wet. She looked at her hand where it had been on the floor and it was dripping with blood. She started shaking, (have I told you about my fear of blood and needles?) and tried to wipe it on her jeans, but they were also soaked with blood. She got her flag out of her bag and wiped her hands on it, and tried to clean off her trousers.
“I think I need a new flag.” She said dropping her flag.
Ennui got out a pen and quickly changed it into the Australian flag and put it over Sam.
“They’ll know where he’s from now.” He mumbled.
“We should do find Dante before anything happens to him.” Amber said, he voice trembling.
“Don’t worry, he’ll be fine. He can look after himself.” Ennui reassured her.
As they walked away from the plane and towards the road where Dante went to search Char slipped quietly off of the plane and followed them.
“Gotcha, Amber” She whispered to herself. She had to duck behind a car as PJ turned round.
As they reached the road there was only a pack of matches on the floor to show that Dante had been there.
“He must have walked down the road.” Ashley said.
“Yeah, but which way?” PJ said
“Umm, let’s go right.” Ashley said.
“Any reason?” PJ said.
“Because I’m right handed.” She answered.
They all followed Ashley as she bounded down the road, PJ walked behind her, but much slower. Amber and Ennui were further behind still, Amber was still trying to get rid of the blood on her arms and legs while Ennui was frowning as he had only just remembered he had left his laptop on the plane.
“What’s wrong?” Amber asked.
“I left my computer on the plane.” He replied.
“Don’t worry, I’ll buy you a new computer,” She said brightly.
“I’ll buy you a new flag as well.” He smiled at her.
PJ turned and saw Char about 50 meters behind the pair, he started walking towards them, which confused them, he was also pointing behind them and when they turned they were not confused any more.
Char was looking at her feet on the dusty road and was annoyed as her shoes were all brown, so she didn’t see the others turn round and see her.
Amber and Ennui caught up with PJ and waited for Char to catch up. She had seen them waiting for her and was even more determined.
“There were 3 667ers standing n a line
One was killed by a knife of mine.
There was 2 667ers standing in a two
I shoot one, down goes you.
There was one 667er standing all alone
I kill you, now there’s no need to moan” Char sang under her breath.
When she was within 10 meters of them she ran at Amber with a knife pointing towards her.
“Over my dead body” Ennui stepped in front of her.
“So be it” Char grinned.
She had stopped and was slowly walking towards Ennui.
“No, don’t.” Amber pleaded, but Ennui side-stepped to shield her.
“Too lat-“ Char was cut off as she lunged at Ennui she caught her foot and landed on PJ. She stabbed him repeatedly and waited for the steady rise and fall of his chest to stop; as it did she stabbed him one last time and left the knife in PJs bloodstained top.
She turned to Amber who was hugging Ennui and took a gun from her coat pocket.
“Who’s next?” She asked.
