I know there's already been a thread on this, but it's much too long, and I'm not sure exactly where it is, so here's a new one. I was just wondering what people's views on vegitarianism, animal rights, lab testing, circises, etc. When I get a chance, I'll type up my persuasive letter (for school) on this.
So, views?

I had this argument with my friend today about eggs. She said that, even though they're not feritlized, eating an egg is like killing a baby chick, since it has the potentail to become a living thing.
I said that means that getting your period is like killing a baby.
She said "well, maybe it is, since it isn't living."
I said "Not living isn't the same as not being dead. My pet rubber band isn't alive, but nobody killed it."
I like new threads better than old ones. less old crap you have to scroll through,.

I try to buy products that aren't tested on animals, because, as they say, research causes cancer in rats. However, I don't want to become vegetarian. That's not because I have a murderous streak, but because I need my protein. If I did go veggie I'd probably still eat fish, eggs, and dairy. Mmm, salmon.

I don't eat beef or pork. I eat chicken and fish. Of course I'm against animal testing! It's disgusting!

I don't recommend harm to animals, since it might bring bad changes to the ecosystems. In some time from now people will be cloning animals for meat so I don't think the consequences should be as destructive.

Well, I find vegetarians to be quite ridiculous. The fact of the matter is that, as omnivorous beings, we must kill to live. Yes, kill, it is part of nature. Vegetarian human beings cannot survive for long, as someone earlier said, you need protien. Yes, you can get that from elsewhere, but is that really going to help stop the killing? No. It will continue, and they are going to have to face the fact that it is natural and they can do nothing about it. JasonKondrick

I have nothing against vegetarians, if they want to eat salads and vegetables all of their life, fine, it doesn't affect my diet. The only thing I don't get is, they're so concerned about saving animals, but by not eating meat, they're losing vitamins and iron and stuff like that from their bodies, so they're risking themselves.
